ULX3S in the wild: open-source HDMI enclosure project

We’re excited to see the ULX3S FPGA platform being used in new open-source projects across the community.

Developer Jim Scarletta recently published an open-source HDMI enclosure for the ULX3S FPGA + ESP32 setup, designed for the Elecrow display and modeled in Autodesk Fusion 360.

The project demonstrates a compact and accessible approach to building FPGA-based display systems, combining embedded hardware, 3D printing, and open design practices.

The demo output is based on sample HDMI code by Bruno Levy, with the original HDMI implementation inspired by FPGA4fun.

Projects like this highlight the versatility of ULX3S and the growing ecosystem of developers extending its capabilities in creative and practical directions.
